Children and Youth

During the Sunday morning meetings, younger folk go to another hall in the School for Energize!

 

It’s a place for all our children and young people to engage with God in praise; to stir their hearts to worship God, to know His presence, and respond to what He's saying.

 

The older age group (year 7 upwards) stay in the service some weeks to join in the worship with the adults and to hear speakers, listen to testimony and join in with ministry times. On other weeks they have their own group where they can look at the bible together, chat, discuss and pray for each other.

 

The younger children have activities every week. We have teaching, films and craft activities. We bring our energy, fun, and enthusiasm and encourage everyone to be involved, to express our love for Jesus and each other.

We do not have a manned crèche yet but there is a room just off the main meeting hall which is set up for use by parents with young children.  If parents prefer they are welcome to keep there little ones with them in the main service.

 

We are in the process of planning our future activities for our young people outside of Sunday mornings and will post details as soon as they are available.  We are, however, fully involved with the youth events run under the Soul Connect banner, a wider initiative for young people amongst the Dorking Churches.

 

Most years in July and August we have trips away to SPREE (a camping weekend run by Urban Saints) and Newday or Soul Survivor, providing an opportunity for the kids to build their faith and learn more about God, grow together as a group and… have loads of fun! 

Our aim is to bring as many as possible to love and follow Jesus and enjoy life in all its fullness!
