What will an evening at Alpha@Costa look like?
We are very grateful to the owners of Costa coffee (located between Robert Dyas and Millets on Pump Corner in Dorking) who will be opening up the coffee shop specifically for the Alpha Course on Wednesday evenings (it isn’t normally open in the evening).
The course will start on Wednesday 27th January 2010 and run for 10 weeks.
Staff will be available to serve coffee and food from 7pm but we would expect most people to turn up from 7.30pm onwards. PLEASE NOTE: All hot drinks plus a cake or dessert will be free of charge (you are welcome to pay for them if you would prefer!).
On the first evening we will arrange those attending into discussion groups of 8-10 people with the intention that those groups remain pretty much constant for the duration of the course (people joining after the first week will be allocated to existing groups). If you are coming with friends, we would of course put you in the same group!
Each group will be facilitated by 2 discussion leaders. The idea is that they will help the discussion and pick up on any questions that may need to be addressed in future weeks; they won’t necessarily have answers to all the questions!
At 8pm the evening will be introduced and there will be a talk of about 25 minutes setting out some of the key issues relating to the particular topic that week. Coffee will not be served during this time.
At 8.30pm coffee will be available again and the discussion groups will start. These will last for 45-50 minutes.
Our arrangement with Costa is that we will finish our evenings by 9.30pm, allowing the staff to tidy up and be off the premises by 10pm.
If you are interested in coming along, please fill out the contact form below and click on Send. We will then contact you to let you know some more details nearer the time.
We look forward to hearing from you.
